COS Past Update Messages
This update was written Sunday, April 12, 6:00 p.m.:
I hope you had a nice spring break!
Well, I'm back at it. Please read all the notes below, and check out this week's Zoom times.
I will be adding new classes this week!
Read the following completely and carefully:
A. During EVERY class time on Mondays and Wednesdays, you should come to this page (COS Classes Spring 2020), read the update, Zoom times, and follow any and all instructions.
B. Reminder: As part of your grade, EVERY Wednesday, there will be a Mandatory Check-In. During this time, you should log into the "Hinds' Zoom Help Room". Be prepared to give a report on what step or project you are currently working on and where you are at. This will be so I can ensure that you are not getting too far behind.
C. Check the section below for all my scheduled Zoom events/ for the week. These are open to either class.
D. This week, I am adding an additional hour of "Hinds' Zoom Help Room" on Friday from 11:00 a.m.-Noon, just to give another time for help.
E. Zoom may be adding a password to get to my Help Room. Go to the "Hinds' Zoom Help Room" Page for links and password.
F. If you have not checked the UPDATED Grading Policy page from before spring break, please do it now.

This update was written Sunday, March 29, 6:00:
Some of you are up to date on lessons/projects! Congratulations! Keep it up!
Some of you are trying, but having some issues! Congratulations! If you keep up the effort, you will do fine! Feel free to long in to Zoom help time on Monday, and I will be glad to work with you.
If you haven't been spending regular time on these lessons/projects, you are the ones I'm worried about. You need to get going now. You even have spring break to get caught up.
COS has decided to complete the semester online. Because of this, and the confusion of some students, I have totally updated the website, the format for our classes, and added our updated grading policy.
Read the following completely and carefully:
A. During EVERY class time on Mondays and Wednesdays, you should come to this page (COS Classes Spring 2020), read the update, Zoom times, and follow any and all instructions.
B. Each week on Wednesdays, there will be a Mandatory Check-In. During this time, you should log into the "Hinds' Zoom Help Room". Be prepared to give a report of what you are currently working on and where you are at. This will be so I can ensure that you are not getting too far behind.
C. The section below this will include all my scheduled Zoom events for the week. This will include regular “Hinds’ Zoom Help Room” times where you can come for help, but also “live lesson” times where I will go over new projects, lessons, or reviews.
D. After I do a “live” lesson, I will post the video of it on the appropriate lesson page.
E. You should be spending time on these classes at least twice a week. If you are not willing to log on for “live” events, mandatory check-ins, or Help time, I do not feel obligated to help you weeks later.
F. I did add a Grading Policy page.
G. By the end of class on Monday March 30, 2020, go to the COS Grading Policy page. Read it thoroughly. If you have questions, contact me. When you have read it, I want you to send me an email with the subject “Grading Policy”. In the body of the email I want you to write, “I, {your name}, have read, understand, and agree to the updated grading policy.” You will receive a grade for this.
