Lesson = Step 5: Reverb/Delay
(This lesson should take 2-3 class days.)
USING Pro Tools software NOT using Pro Tools
Part 1 (first day)
+Download/print the Paper: Step #5- Reverb & Delay. (above) + Go to the google drive > "COS RA2" > "VIDEOS for RA2" and watch: +Video #1 "AF Reverb CUT 01 What is Reverb" +Video #2 "AF Delay& Mod CUT 01 What is Delay" +Video #3 - Watch "How to Mix from Scratch- Reverb & Delay" Take notes on your Step #5 paper. +Now give it a shot. FOLLOW THE STEPS ON THE PAPER! Work on Mix 2. Find areas that need compression- either by looking at the big changes in the waveform or when listening, the track is sometimes too loud or too soft. Start on your CORE instruments. Part 2 (2nd/3rd day) +Video #4 - Go to the google drive > "COS RA2" and watch as I go explain and go through Step 5 Reverb/Delay. Click to see the MUSIC VIDEO I referenced. +Now continue to work on Reverb/Delay. Listen back through Mix 2. Then work on Mix 4. JUST FOLLOW THE STEPS ON THE PAPER! Part 3 Watch these "next step" videos to learn some fancier things you can do. If it confuses you, don't use it. If you can understand these, you can take your mix to the next level. Go to the google drive > "COS RA2" > "VIDEOS for RA2" and watch +Video #5 - "AMB CUT REV 3 EQ-Quick Setup-in a mix 16" AND +Video #6 - "AMB CUT DLY 3 Haas & 3 Types 10" +Listen through the mixes to confirm you got it right or adjust. + When Complete, save as a .ptx file with "REV DLY" at the end of BOTH of the file names and email the .ptx only for both Mix 2 and Mix 4 to roberth@cos.edu.. |

You can use the Compression Paper above if you would like. Part 2 (2nd/3rd day) +Video #5 Go to the google drive > "COS RA2"and watch as I go explain and go through Step 5 Reverb & Delay, with Q&A afterward. Click to see the MUSIC VIDEO I referenced. + Write a summary of what I did and how I did it. Was there anything different from the videos that I added? Part 3 Go to the google drive > "COS RA2" > "VIDEOS for RA2" and watch +Video #6 - "AMB CUT REV 3 EQ-Quick Setup-in a mix 16" AND +Video #7 - "AMB CUT DLY 3 Haas & 3 Types 10" to see ADDITIONAL things you can do. Compare and contrast these videos and the previous two. What was different, what was the same. + When Complete, email me your writings to roberth@cos.edu..
